After not having an exhibit with our diorama in 2025, we are in full swing with our plans for 2026. The next stage of the story told in the diorama will change a few things. Be surprised. The planned premiere will be at Born2Brick 2026 in R\u00fcsselsheim on June 6 and 7!<\/p>\n

2024::WIP<\/h4>\n

After we got back from Skaerbaek, we started to change the diorama. What was missing was the city wall, a few more houses, a church and of course a real castle on a real hill. But this also meant that the original 36 base plates have now become 48.

2023<\/h4>\n

Planning for 2023, my wife and I have decided to build something that we can exhibit together. Without knowing how big the diorama would be, we started with a rough sketch and planned what would be included in such a diorama and where something could be placed. We started in a rather rural setting with a farmer’s hut, a river with a mill, followed by a village with a marketplace and finally a castle. In addition, a witch’s house on a hill in a forest was to be added. That was my wife’s solo part.
\nWe started in December 2022 and had the premiere with the first version at the Born2Brick 2023 beginning of July.
\nWe did not build the castle for reasons of time and so a ‘fortified building’ was created according to a building instruction. But we still found time to build the knight’s tournament.
\nThe name chosen for the village is based on the Germanic Ahl<\/i> for protection, building or house and Steina<\/i> for stone.<\/p>\n
